App - Location Check-In with Scanner Support

Setting up 2D/QR Code Scanner with desktop Staff App for a seamless member check-in experience.

Step 1 - Gather Hardware Requirements

  • Any USB scanner capable of 2D/QR code reading.

  • A Windows or Mac desktop or laptop with the FT Staff App Installed.

Step 2 - Install the FT Staff App On Your Desktop

Available on any device. Download the FT Staff App directly to your workstation to manage check-ins from your desktop or laptop.

Once installed, open and sign in with your ForeTees staff credentials.

Step 3 - Connect Your USB Scanner

  1. Plug in the scanner: Connect the USB scanner to any available USB port on your desktop device. Your operating system will recognize it automatically within seconds.

  2. Open the FT Staff App: Launch the app on your desktop and sign in with your ForeTees staff credentials, if you have not done so already.

  3. Navigate to Location Check-In: From the main menu, select the Location Check-In feature.

  4. Test the scanner: Hold up a QR code (from the ForeTees Club App). The check-in should register instantly, prompting you to add other members and guests.

  5. Enable Rapid Check-In (recommended): You will then be able to scan multiple member's QR codes for a seamless check-in process.

Pro Tip: Keep the Location Check-In screen open and visible at your front desk, fitness center, or pool gate. Using a wired scanner allows your staff to focus on the member, not the screen, elevating your club's level of service from the moment they walk in.

Troubleshooting

App won’t install:

  • Windows: ensure your device is running Windows 10 or later.

  • Mac: Ensure your device is running macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later.

Scanner not recognized:

  • Try a different USB port on your computer.

  • Unplug and re-plug the scanner.

  • Restart the FT Staff App after plugging in the scanner.

  • Confirm the scanner can read QR codes (2D), not barcodes (1D)

Scan registers but check-in fails:

  • Confirm which QR code the member is currently scanning. It must be the one from the mem

  • Verify the Location Check-In screen is open on your desktop.

  • Check your internet connection - the app requires connectivity to process check-ins.
